Simple Things to Check before Calling.
- Make sure the battery is fully charged and properly connected
- Check all cable connections for any looseness or corrosion
- Inspect tires for proper inflation and obvious punctures
- Test the brakes for proper adjustment and wear
- Make sure the display/control screen is turning on
- Reset the system by unplugging and replugging the battery
- Look for blown fuses (if accessible) and replace if necessary
- Ensure the pedal assist and throttle are unobstructed
- Clean dirt and debris off key parts, especially around sensors
- Refer to the owner’s manual for any error codes or troubleshooting steps

E-Bike Battery Repair: Simple Fixes
Is your e-bike battery dead, intermittent, or not charging? The problem is often something small. I repair external battery issues like:
- Blown fuses
- Damaged, frayed, or broken power wires
- Loose or corroded connections and terminals
- Faulty wire connections between the pack and the connector
What I don’t do: I don’t replace cells or BMS (battery management system) boards. If your battery needs that, I’ll let you know after inspecting it so you can decide on your next step.
How it works: Drop off your battery and I’ll inspect it and tell you what’s wrong. If it’s a simple fix like those above, I’ll take care of it. If it’s beyond that scope, you’ll know up front.
With some luck it will just be a simple fix for $35. Just leave a $40 cash deposit when you drop it off and regardless of if I fix it or not you have to come pick it up in a few days or less.
